What is Pibliotheca?

Pibliotheca is a free, online library application for small libraries!

Pibliotheca is a child-of-the-mind, which sprang from my wife learning she could just buy a barcode scanner.

She wanted to put all our household books into a spread sheet, and she was going to scan the ISBNs and then manually enter the information. It dawned on me that there was probably an API out there that could automatically populate that information for her, so I wrote a little program so she could scan the information directly into a spreadsheet. Then I had to build a website for my art, and figured I could likely build a site for her books just like it! One thing lead to another, and her friend, who was a private librarian, needed something better than her paper system for managing patrons, and asked me to add checkouts. Now, here we are!

Pibliotheca endeavors to be the best choice for large families with lots of books, private libraries, or just friends who like to loan books.

We want to provide a feature rich, but simple experience for book lovers everywhere.
